ADAPTATION

absorbed in the glory of wind
yard after yard of all that is planted
should the sensations of change be toppled out of reach
by fence or gate
of taller season's the rain would run
blending my skin and the sky's screen into one
only untouchable things of the world
were weathered with salt
standing on the bottom of the sea bed
light gave me air
gave us nothing less than power and steam
i've changed with the hour
my shoes
and taste for mushrooms
on another plate with sauce
humidity is measured by the potency of moisture
and temperature has left my skin of body asleep
waiting to be turned over
elongated by spine and foot
stepping into the future
with screen in hand and mind a float
