visiting, when invited
always by surprise and in view,
i happened upon,
koi:
a pond of gathering saints
with color splashed
in cold.
then,from above
below was easy and gentle
with interest reflecting
eye to eye
skin to scale.
grace made visible in ripples
my arms hung
heart swam.
purpose achieved in a pond
of gold, red, white, black
of perseverance
i turned back.
circled in strength
to and from
my flesh
their mouth
at peace.
