eye lids are heavy
the weight of today's whale is
bringing down the house
the car
the friends
even the fun
is wrapped in ribbons and bonds.
coffee and cigarettes are not fun
mistaken pleasures for love
in a hostile environment with people
playing to play to play their hand
before putting the table in the kitchen.
